Confiscation and Litigation

  • other civil litigation associated with (or arising from) criminal law proceedings.

Confiscation : money or property which is, or may in the future be, 'restrained' or 'frozen', and later 'forfeited' to the state as a result of suspected criminal activity.

Civil Litigation : 'being sued for damages' in relation to matters which have previously been heard and finalised in a criminal court, or which could have been subject of criminal charges but charges were withdrawn or not pursued by police.
