Peter Lunt - B.Ec., L.L.B.

Peter has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University, and was admitted to practise in 1994.

Peter joined Robert Stary & Associates in 2007 with previous experience including Victoria Legal Aid as Duty Solicitor and St Kilda Legal Service Drug & Alcohol Lawyer. Peter has also held a number of Community Legal sector and private sector positions including time at Slater & Gordon in Industrial Relations.

Peter is a member of Criminal Law Section of the Law Institute.

Peter’s Reflections:

My interest in criminal law is to provide individuals with access to justice, particularly those in positions of disadvantage, when faced with the often overwhelming power of the state.

Tony Kelly - BSc., BSocWk., JD

Tony joined Rob Stary and Associates in May 2009 after completing his articles at the commercial law firm Arnold Bloch Leibler. Prior to undertaking post graduate studies in law at the University of Melbourne Tony worked for 20 years as a social worker. In that time Tony specialised firstly in working with young offenders and then people of all ages experiencing drug and alcohol issues.

Tony also has a strong interest in Indigenous community welfare and has for many years operated successfully as a consultant for both the Northern Territory and Federal Governments on a range of Indigenous community development initiatives.

Tony is a member of Liberty Victoria.

Tony’s Reflections:

• I moved from the commercial legal world to criminal law because I missed the interaction with people from all walks of life.
• I believe that my social work background adds enormous value to my legal skills given my experience of engaging and empathising with people who are in crisis.
• As a lawyer I believe I have a responsibility to seek just outcomes for my clients and also to advocate and agitate for justice more broadly within our community.
